Charity Baptist Church
About Our Church
Charity Baptist Church is a self-supporting church in the Mt. Nebo area of Nicholas County, West Virginia, located in the Old Fowler's Knob Church building, where we believe God has lead us to reside. We chose the name "Charity" based on 1st Corinthians Chapter 13, verse 13 "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity".
Our mission and purpose is to:
- Be a dynamic spiritual church empowered by the Holy Spirit to share Christ with as many people as possible in our church, community, and throughout the world
- Be a worshiping fellowship, experiencing an awareness of God, recognizing His person and responding in obedience to His leadership
- Experience an increasingly meaningful fellowship with God and fellow believers
- Help people experience a growing knowledge of God and man
- Be a church that ministers unselfishly to persons in the community and world in the name of Jesus
- Be a church whose purpose is to be Christian in our daily living by emphasizing total commitment of life, personality, and possessions of the lordship of Christ
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith. Our church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of "The Baptist Faith and Message" and we band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to a lost mankind. The ordinances of the church are Baptist by immersion and the Lord's Supper.
